Tuesday January fourteen

Nowadays some rain below and there a very grey, mystical, mysterious, and magical day… the trees, now shorn of leaves, a lot more like shadows than their usual selves. Mist covering the nearby hills and hovering in the little woods. In the forties, have to be our January thaw. Flooding final 7 days, the waterfalls down the street are still overflowing – roaring even in daytime, more than the seems of the working day…

Have been working on the handles and inserts of the Unsung Music CD with Diana sometimes I surprise if this project named Unsung Music will ever occur to a shut. Diana nevertheless has to adjust the base line on the CD go over to “set to” the haiku poems of William Hurley, instead of “dependent on”. Dane completed his sound engineer work on the tunes Al remastered the CD for the world wide web, introduced out the bass and boosted the volume. Dane’s model is more sensitive, and I will use his variation for the CDs created for sale in shops. (To hear tracks from the new Unsung Music: Tunes of the Earth CD you can go to Artistopia or Radio Airplay, just variety in my name in their research function.)

Invested a few times cleaning the residence and minimizing the muddle left above from autumn in planning for more composing. Spoke with my flutist, Laura Campbell we agreed on a piece for flute and piano for a live performance and recording. Potentially because of working with Hurley’s poems for the Unsung Music, a couple of months in the past I took out an old notebook and started scribbling down a couple of strains of poems, images for the new flute piece. Determined on three movements, though that could adjust.

A 7 days or so back, my buddy Frieda the dancer wrote me for the first time in many several years – she experienced heard a few tracks from the Unsung Tunes on the World wide web and wanted to choreograph dance to my songs. Frieda and I gave tunes/dance concert events several several years back, below in Ithaca and also in New York City. A single memorable dance live performance was in a loft in the Village, a person from the New York Moments came to evaluation it – I in no way saw the review but listened to it was favorable. Following her concept I made a decision to create her a poem – and nowadays I decided a shorter poem about a dancer could be the picture for motion III of the flute piece, which for the instant I am calling Glimpses…

Poems:

I. The Flute/The Glimpse

Laughter in the woods,Distant and carefree-

Daylight excellent,By way of the leaves,Against the deep eco-friendly,Of the forest flooring-

As though two worlds met,Each perceived for an instantaneous…

II.

Strolling,Elegance just about everywhere-

III. The Dancer

Suddenly,In a concealed glade,A solitary dancer.

This afternoon, the soft gentle coming through our front home windows, I set a handful of sheets of manuscript paper on the piano rack and started finding motives and melodies for the flute. And then a piano motive in the bass for the second motion. A number of days back, I experienced suggestions for the very first motion, that are still in my head, not yet created down. The very first and previous actions will be primarily playful, light-weight… Or at least that is my idea for them…

It has begun.
