While many shoppers are burned out (and probably spent out) after the passing of yet another Christmas, the next few days will most likely offer the best bargains of the holiday season. Opening Ceremony, Barneys New York and most of the city’s major department stores, like Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s, are offering further reductions to already discounted prices. Get to Barneys New York to find more than 100 designers on sale for up to 60 percent off. Peruse the racks for all the rage items like Diane von Furstenberg dresses on sale for $ 149, down from $ 375; Haider Ackermann silk pants for $ 369, from $ 1,470; and high-waist Carven skirts for $ 169, from $ 420. Bergdorf Goodman is also marking down an impressive selection of designer clothing up to 60 percent off. At the Fifth Avenue store you can find fall items like Marc Jacobs’s flower print dresses for $ 1,120, from $ 2,800; Jil Sander bustier dresses for $ 1,568, from $ 2,240; and Michael Kors herringbone jackets for $ 897, from $ 1,495. Opening Ceremony has dedicated most of the bottom floor of its SoHo store to sale items up to 70 percent off, including a notable selection of fall clothing from its own Opening Ceremony label, and other designers like Proenza Schouler, Kenzo and Acne. Down the street, Dunderdon Workshop has announced that it will be closing its doors Jan. 13. However, for fans of the Swedish company who want to stock up on the work-wear-inspired clothing, the SoHo store is having a sale marking down all merchandise by 50 to 70 percent, including twill parkas, sweaters and lace-up boots. Also in SoHo, Saturdays Surf is marking down its label’s graphic tees and fitted hats to $ 30 until mid-January. The store is also discounting its in-house fall collection by 25 percent, including popular items like men’s down jackets, to $ 300; cable-knit sweaters, to $ 120; and canvas pants, to $ 96. With temperatures dipping, shoppers still in the market for a winter jacket are in luck: the Helmut Lang sample sale starts Jan. 9, marking down shearling jackets to $ 595. The label is manufactured in Midtown and known for its baseball caps in an impressive assortment of colorful prints and materials.
